Ray Britland Contractors was founded in 2008, building on the family business, G & P Britland. Ray Britland began contracting in 1983 at just 16, following the sudden passing of his father. After years of balancing farm and contract work, Ray fully shifted to contracting, handling major projects like Manchester Airport's second runway.

In 2008, Ray Britland Contractors Limited was established to separate the contracting business from farming. Since then, the company has grown significantly, now employing 40 full-time staff. Ray’s wife, Kathryn, joined in 2012 to manage the clerical side.
