West Midlands Lawn Mower Racing Association
Lawn mower racing is a relatively unknown motorsport that has been gaining popularity in the UK over the past few years. It is a unique and exciting sport that combines the thrill of speed and the simplicity of lawn mowers.
‘If Motocross & Karting had a love child – that would be mower racing’.
Lawn mower racing is a sport that anyone can take part in. It doesn't require any previous experience, and the cost of entry is relatively low. All you need is a lawn mower and a sense of adventure. The mowers used in lawn mower racing are modified to make them faster, more durable & fit some key safety features. A list of build specifications can be found in the handbook – link to handbook.
The races themselves are usually held on a short off-road track, with a series of tight turns and long straights. The mowers can reach speeds of up to 50 mph, which may not seem fast, but when you're sitting just a few inches off the ground, it feels like you're going much faster.
The WMLMRA runs meetings predominately in the West Midlands countryside. We also work closely with the other UK Associations, & attend events run by other clubs:
