National Governing Bodies Continue To Support SALTEX: A Vital Platform For Sports Turf Management
With a commitment to excellence in turf management, the NGBs - including the Football Association, Football Foundation, England and Wales Cricket Board, Rugby Football Union, and Rugby Football League - all recognise SALTEX as an indispensable platform for innovation, education, and networking within the field.
For a decade, SALTEX has enjoyed unwavering support from sport’s national governing bodies (NGBs), reflecting the exhibition’s pivotal role in uniting and elevating the grounds management community. Alongside the Grounds Management Association, the NGBs play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of playing surfaces across the nation. By endorsing SALTEX, these organisations affirm their dedication to advancing best practices and fostering collaboration within the turf management community.
For the last three years, visitors have been able to engage with the NGBs via the GMA’s hub to gain further understanding of the funding opportunities available to community clubs and grounds teams, as well as the NGBs support community sport.
Chris Smith, Head of Programmes at The Football Foundation said: “Attending SALTEX ensures that community clubs and volunteers have the chance to find out about funding opportunities available to them through the Foundation, and access to the best resources and knowledge in turf pitch management. It offers a great opportunity for the team at the Football Foundation to connect with industry experts who are working to improve the quality of grassroots facilities across the country. We look forward to coming along this October.”
Dr Iain James, Head of Facilities Services, England and Wales Cricket Board said: “We always find that SALTEX is a great opportunity for cricket grounds managers to engage in unique learning opportunities, find out about the latest machinery and services, and meet with other grounds managers to share ideas and experiences.”
Tom Little, RFL Facilities Manager said: “SALTEX is the perfect platform to network with experts from right across the sector and see the latest technology being exhibited. The Community Sports Zone is a great opportunity for community clubs to network with industry experts and understand the technology available to them when working to provide high quality, grass pitches at a community level.”
Ted Mitchell, RFU National Facility Development Manager said: “At the RFU, we feel as though SALTEX is a prime opportunity for the RFU to engage with a massive range of people from across the industry in one place. The event continues to develop with educational seminars and the ‘Clubhouse’ casual meeting venue concept really adds value to the overall experience.”
SALTEX, organised by the Grounds Management Association, provides a dynamic environment for industry leaders, grounds managers, and suppliers to showcase cutting-edge products, share insights, and engage in meaningful discussions. With its comprehensive exhibition, educational seminars, and live demonstrations, SALTEX remains the go-to event for staying at the forefront of turf management trends and technologies.
Commenting on the continued support from NGBs, Jason Booth, Chief Operating Officer at the Grounds Management Association said: "SALTEX plays an instrumental role in promoting excellence in turf management. The show provides a vital platform for knowledge exchange and professional development within our industry - we are extremely grateful to the NGBs for their continued collaboration and support."
