David is the Group CEO of Labosport International and holds a title of Visiting Professor at Sheffield Hallam University. Labosport is a large, multi-national sports engineering consultancy and test laboratory dedicated to sports surfaces, infrastructure and equipment. 

David has been working in the field of sports engineering for more than 25 years and has sustained a significant contribution to research and knowledge transfer through a myriad of projects with sports companies and federations.

Through Labosport’s role as FIFA Research Institute, David works very closely with FIFA to develop new standards and test methods for football infrastructure. This talk will provide an overview of FIFA’s approach to improving the quality of football turf surfaces and will highlight some of the latest developments in research and innovation.
