Iker started his career as an estimator and engineer in urban services and landscaping industry which was where he first experienced natural turf management.

His passion for this expertise drove him to the UK where he improved his knowledge in sports turf management by becoming an apprentice Greenkeeper at Wentworth Golf Club, he then moved to Brocket Hall Golf Club as Assistant Greenkeeper finally become a sports turf consultant for Agrostis Sports Turf Consultancy.

He became a freelance consultant for environmental services and sports turf management, when he returned to Spain and in 2022 he joined Real Sociedad Football Club as Grounds Manager.

Iker has a degree in agricultural engineering, and is interests include environmental land management.
