Seran has been involved in football all of his life (45 years and counting..), as a player, then coach – both voluntary through his local grassroots Club (Broughton Ravers JFC), as a Secondary School PE Teacher and more recently as MD of his own business Clixby Active Pro Sports Ltd.

Sean first became involved in the grounds management industry in a voluntary capacity through his role as chair of Trustees of Broughton Community and Sports Association (BCSA) and lead on their grounds maintenance programme. BCSA manage the site where Broughton Ravers JFC play their games (Broughton Recreation Field) and the pitches were in a very poor state, severely affected by chafer grubs and associated damage. He subsequently accessed GMA training courses and has now successfully completed the Level 3 Winter Pitches (Advanced Turf Culture) qualification.

In 2022, BCSA won both Lincolnshire FA's Grassroots Grounds Team of the Year and also the GMA's National Volunteer Grounds Team of the Year. He has be instrumental in the transformation of Broughton Recreation Field from it's ‘very poor’ grade in 2019 to its current grading of ‘Advanced’.

He has been part of the Football Foundation's Enhanced Grass Pitch Maintenance Fund since its infancy and is experienced in the use of the PitchPower process.
